Clip of the Day - Dawn of the Dead Albums

dotdPirate-hating he-man Louis Fowler has been steadily posting the various Dawn of the Dead cuts on his blog, including the U.S. version and Goblin’s contribution, with the promise of more to come. And while you’re at it, you may want to dig around for even more classic cult movie soundtracks.

One thing that definitely hurts my credibility as a horror blogger is my indifference to the original Dawn of the Dead (and the remake, for that matter). It’s not that I think it’s bad, or that it isn’t historically important, but I think Romero was just trying too hard, especially in comparison to the effortless beauty of Night of the Living Dead.

It’s brave of you to admit that. Seriously, being “indifferent” to DotD on A horror blog, much less THE…

I mean, I think that’s crazy talk, but I still gotta give props for going against the CW. I don’t even have the guts to let on that I think Harvey Keitel is a crummy actor.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Once I was in a record store looking at some DVDs and I got into a discussion about Romero’s movies with a guy who was also browsing. He thought my opinion on Dawn was pure crazy talk. I told my girlfriend about it afterwards and she replied, “You didn’t get his number did you? I think I’d rather date him.”
