Thanks for this great article! I read ‘Phantom Zone 1 thru 4′ when I was 13 also back in 82′/83. I still have the comics are re-read them every 5 years or so. They’ll incredible mature and well written.
There’s one frame from ‘Jemm, Son of Saturn’ from the mid-80’s that has another pissed off Superman moment I love: Some minor character mentions that all Aliens should be killed while Superman is standing in the room. Superman replies basically, “In case you didn’t know, I’m an alien, too!” with a close up, mean look in his face.
