The Horror Blog Monster Rally Champions!
We have a winner!
With an enormous 82% win over The Blair Witch and Ghoulies, The Blind Dead have come out on top of The Horror Blog Monster Rally. When asked to comment on their win, a representative for the Blind Dead replied, “What the fuck is this? The Stanley Cup?” No, it’s actually a miniature replica of the Stanley Cup. Enjoy!
Thanks to all the Roundtable participants who suggested combatants for the Rally, particularly David Z. who provided us with The Blind Dead, thereby proving his superiority over all others. Make sure you read David’s homage to the undead Templars, Ascension of the Blind Dead.
And while I was the only person to successfully predict that The Blind Dead would sweep the competition, John B. came closest of the contestants in the Monster Rally Office Pool with his guess of Pinhead. John has won a copy of LovecraCked - The Movie, a DVD compilation of Lovecraftian shorts courtesy of Biff Juggernaut, and a copy of My Dead Girlfriend, the latest film by Brett Kelly and one of my favourite films of the year, from Tempe Video.

HAHAH!! Great to see…THE BLIND DEAD WALK ON! Glad to have stuck them funny little Ghoulies in the wild card slot to ensure victory for those Terrible Templars as well.

Woo-hoo! I’m pretty great! The Blind Dead were my personal favourites, but I figured the Cenobite would sweep it. Glad I was close, anyway.

Yeah, despite my support for The Blind Dead, Pinhead was strong throughout and I was afraid he was going to take it. Let me tell you, if Critters hadn’t taken that round by the smallest of margins, he may have won. Not that it would matter to you, John.

Ah, the Blind Dead… you must be very happy, Steve! You introduced me to those sound lovin` miscreants many years ago. I`m sad the ol` wereWOLFman pair didn`t make it too far, but them`s the breaks.
What about a contest that involves all kinds of horrific character? Aside from movies that is. I`d LOVE to see M.O.D.O.K get his due! Although he may not be a `horror character` per say, he would certainly make me piss myself if I saw him in person! Maybe not the Ironman cartoon`s 3 foot version, but the friggin` real 11 foot deal!!!

On a good note, I’m meeting a guy today who did puppet work on the first two Ghoulies movies. Lucky me, I love The Ghoulies.

I am very happy, Gary. I’ve also received quite a few suggestions for future rallies. We’ll have to wait until next year to see if I’ll attempt it again.
