Bloodrayne, Wicker Man and Lady In The Water Represent.
The nominations are in, and once again horror has a good showing for this year’s awards season. That’s right, the nominees for The Razzies have been announced. Up for Worst Movie honours are Lady In The Water, Bloodrayne and The Wicker Man remake, and all three films made the cut for the most nominated pictures of the year.
Bloodrayne, 6 Nominations - Worst Picture, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Director and Screenplay
Wicker Man, 5 Nominations - Worst Picture, Actor, Screenplay, Remake and Screen Couple
Lady In The Water, 4 Nominations - Worst Picture, Supporting Actor, Director and Screenplay
Rounding out the horror nominees, David Thewlis also picked up a Worst Supporting Actor nod for his role in The Omen, Carmen Electra nabbed a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress for Scary Movie 4, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Beginning hit it and quit it for Worst Prequel or Sequel. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that only one horror movie was nominated for Worst Remake. Could things be looking up for horror?

I actually thought Lady in the Water was ok. Much better than Signs, which might have had the worst alien invasion ever (they travel across the universe and forget to bring a screw driver or a sledge hammer to break open doors AND they’re killed by water so they land on a planet where water falls from the sky regularly and consists of more than 75 percent of the planet’s surface AND we’re supposed to find aliens who can’t figure out door knobs scary?!? Sorry. I’ve got issues with the movie.)
Admittedly I drank a lot of whiskey while watching Lady in the Water, but still…the Razzie should definitely go to BloodRayne, which required a lot more whiskey to make it through.
