Yes! I forgot about The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation!

Great pick; it's definitely on my list. That scene where Matthew McConaughey goes apeshit in the kitchen is a lot of fun, and I like the look of Leatherface, too (reminds me of one of those old aunts who always has mints at the bottom of her purse). Plus, there's something special about seeing Renée Zellweger in a role you know she'd bury if she could.

Gratuitous lesbian scenes are hardly an uncommon guilty pleasure, that's for sure.

Like many of the contributors this week, I also don't label anything I enjoy as a "guilty pleasure". But if I did, a lot of my viewing habits would definitely qualify! I continue to waste my time with horror franchises that stopped being any good decades ago. The Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm St. series can continue to be abused and mishandled by whatever studios hands they pass through and I'll still get stupidly excited to see each new installment in the theaters.

And while the lame horror movies of every era always call to me, for some reason I have a special affection for the lame horror movies of the late '80s/early '90s. Horror was stuck in a kind of limbo at the time with the franchises of the '80s being on the wane and I always looked forward to the latest failed attempt to create a new horror icon with films like The Horror Show, Shocker, The First Power, Dr. Giggles, Ghost in the Machine and Brainscan. When Scream finally caught on in '96, I have to say I felt a little disappointed. Trickster got robbed!

So, Kimberly... does this mean that we can expect Lucio Fulci to get the Cinebeats treatment any time soon?
