Top Ten - Arbogast

The Horror Blog Top Ten returns from a short stint in the grave with today’s selection, hand-picked by the Mad Monk of horror blogging, Arbogast. For the month of October Arbogast has cast aside his idiosyncratic musings on weird cinema to concentrate once more on the extraordinary screams of the damned, with a serving of auditory delights on the side. Feast your ears and orbs on that!

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968)
CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962)
CANOA (1976)

The Blair Witch Project? Seriously, you put The Blair Witch Project on the same list as Viy and Nosferatu? I wouldn’t put The Blair witch project on the same list as Elmo’s Halloween Special. You have some great films on this list, but BWP was a bad movie.

I don’t understand the love for ‘The Blair Witch Project.’ It’s about as frightening as a child’s birthday party - and damned near as boring. Not only that, but, while BWP wasn’t the first film to use the “found footage” gimmick (’Cannibal Holocaust’, anyone?), it was the one that started the fad, and for that sin alone it should be banned forever.
