Freddy and Pinhead Vs. Jason and Michael Myers

fvpvjvm

And for the tag team championship, we’ve got a big ol’ monster mash with a quartet of late-70s to mid-80s slasher icons. Could the sinister machinations of Freddy and Pinhead overcome the brute savagery of Jason and Michael Myers? You decide! Vote in the sidebar for your favourite team.

And while you’re at it, get your votes in for the baffling battle between Wolfman and his distant cousin the Werewolf. And don’t forget to email me at steven@thehorrorblog.com with your pick for ultimate monster champion for your chance to win The Horror Blog’s first contest.

Wolfman Vs. Werewolf

wolfmanvswerewolf

This is the bout that inspired this whole madness. For years my brother has greeted me with the near-impossible conundrum that is today’s entry in the Monster Rally. Who would win? Who could win?!? Choose your side. Wolfman? Or Werewolf?

As always, vote for your favourite in the sidebar. And make sure you get your votes in for The Circus of Nights and Frankenstein’s Monsters before tomorrow. Finally, check out the Monster Rally Office Pool for your chance to win some cool prizes.

Circus of Nights Vs. Frankenstein Monsters

circusvsfrankenstein

It was difficult determining just which monsters from Curt’s premise would make it into the Monster Rally. I could have easily done the entire thing with the creatures from his contribution alone. In the end, I decided that there was something satisfying about pitting a circus full of vampires against every single one of the Hammer Frankenstein’s creations.

As always, place your vote in the sidebar, and if you think you have the inside track on who’s going to walk away the victor, make sure you email me with your guess to be entered in the Monster Rally Office Pool contest.

And remember, today’s your last chance to vote for The Haunting vs. The Blair Witch.

The Haunting Vs. The Blair Witch

hauntingvsblairwitch

In what could be the least obnoxious bout yet, Hill House and the Blair Witch go to-to-toe with their combined arsenal of diabolical whispers and crazed woodcraft skills. Who do you think will come out on top, the house or the woods? Vote in the sidebar for your favourite.

Also remember, this is the last day to vote for Critters on Ghoulies action, so get cracking. And if you haven’t entered the Monster Rally Office Pool contest, move your ass.

Critters Vs. Ghoulies

crittersvsghoulies

This one’s going to be a bloodbath. Which miniscule 80’s horror icon do you want to see make it to the next round? In this corner, full of teeth and vinegar, the Critters. In the other, those potty-trained goblins of grue, the Ghoulies. It’s like dogfighting, but better.

And remember, this is the final day to vote for the Freddy vs. Pinhead match. Unlike the others, it’s too close to call, so your vote will count. Both matches can be found in the sidebar.

For more information on what this monster rally is all about, please visit the first post. And while you’re at it, take a look at The Horror Blog’s first contest and choose the monster you think will make it to the top.

The Monster Rally Office Pool

fightI plan on holding numerous contests throughout October. One of these involves choosing who you think will walk away with the aforementioned Horror Blog Halloween Monster Rally championship. For the first 12 days of the rally I will be accepting one nomination per person as to who they think will come out on top. One name will be chosen from all the people who guessed correctly.

The winner will be sent a copy of LovecraCked - The Movie, a DVD compilation of Lovecraftian shorts courtesy of Biff Juggernaut, and a copy of My Dead Girlfriend, the latest film by Brett Kelly and one of my favourite films of the year, from Tempe Video.

The following are the contestants in the Monster Rally you can choose from.

The Blair Witch
The Blind Dead
Captain Howdy (from Strangeland)
Critters
Circus of Nights (from Vampire Circus)
Dollman
The Firefly Clan (House of 1,000 Corpse)
Frankenstein Monsters (Hammer versions)

Freddy Vs. Pinhead

freddyvspinhead

Pinhead again?!? These two pugilists were nominated more than any other during the Roundtable that started this mess. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the fact that while they fight today soon they’ll be teaming up against Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers.

You know the drill. Freddy vs. Pinhead. Who would win? Vote in the poll in the sidebar.

And don’t forget, you can still vote for either Pinhead or Samara in yesterday’s bout.

Pinhead Vs. Samara

pinheadvssamara

Next up in our horror version of Battle of the Network Stars is the grim Pinhead facing off against the equally dour Samara from the Ring movies. I don’t know who will win, but you won’t catch me watching or opening anything to do with either of these creeps.

Vote in the sidebar for who you want to reach the next level. And if you’re feeling particularly impassioned, root for your favourite in the comments section and see if you can’t change someone’s mind. Also, keep in mind that voting for Dollman versus Leatherface ends tomorrow, so cast your votes now.

Dollman Vs. Leatherface

dollmanvsleatherface

The first match-up for the Halloween Monster Rally is The Dimunitive Dollman versus Lovely Leatherface Sawyer. Leatherface has the weight advantage over Dollman, but it remains to be seen whether he can hit a a target that isn’t confined to a wheelchair.

Vote in the sidebar for the character you want to see make it to the second round.
