Horror films with feminist undertones never fail to let me down. They usually have a few decent moments then drop the ball in the end in favour of genre conventions (ie. Ginger Snaps). Hopefully Teeth, the aforementioned vagina dentata film that premiered at Sundance and has been picking up quite a bit of critical attention, will succeed. Thanks to Lion’s Gate and the Weinsteins, who just picked up the distribution rights, maybe I’ll actually get a chance to see it and find out for myself. I’ll be especially impressed if they follow through on their promise not to trim it for an R rating.
